Established in 2007, the DuPont Nature Center at the Mispillion Reserve in Milford, Delaware offers its visitors a unique insight into the Delaware Bay ecosystem.
The Bay's beaches are famous for hosting the annual spawning of the world's largest horseshoe crab population, as well as the thousands of migrating shorebirds that arrive to feed in the crab's eggs.
Using colorful exhibits, videos, sighting scopes, and remotely operated "nature camera," visitors are able to learn about and experience this phenomena in an "up close and personal" way.
The Center also sponsors nature walks, school field trips, and out door educational activities.
Funded by a grant from Clear into the Future, a DuPont program.
